Philosophy

Josephine Edwards Christian School believes a complete education includes the harmonious development of the mental, physical, social, and most importantly, the spiritual growth of each student. We attempt to educate our students for this world and prepare them for the eternal life that is to come; Bible class, worship, and prayer are essential ingredients of our standard textbook curriculum. JECS’s standard textbook curriculum incorporates the belief in God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We believe in the inspiration of the whole Bible including the Genesis account of creation.

Mission Statement

The Josephine Edwards Christian School, a member of the Seventh-day Adventist School System, was established in 1952 to provide a Christ-centered education for the Christian youth of the Ellijay, GA area.

Adventists believe that the proper education of Christian young people is the greatest work on earth.

Our mission is to lovingly guide students into a personal relationship with Jesus through His Word, academics, and nature.
